- Choose a router that is dual-band or more. Dual-banded routers allow you to broadcast your wireless signal on two frequencies. These frequencies can range from 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz and 6 GHz. This helps reduce congestion on your home network which means you get more bandwidth.
